How about Boy smashing it at the New Zealand Film and Television Awards? Hard out.
I really need to see that movie again, but from memory it was good and those seven awards are very much deserved.

You're lucky you need to see it again Pies. First couple of times i showed up at Cinema 5 the place was full.
So i waited a couple of weeks, and by then people were finding so many things for me to do, that i never made it back.
From what i hear of the movie, i'm wondering what it'll do for the NZ Tourism Industry?
We hardly ever go to the movies and we waited quite a while to see Boy - but made it before it left town. It was well worth the wait and a lot better than I expected.
Yeah, it's a bit rough and I admit I wondered whether international audiences would get it and what they'd think of our country. But the fact it's done so well in NZ, does it really need to conquer the world? I'm not convinced.
I once read about a guy who arrived from the States at Auckland airport and said to the taxi driver "Take me to the bar from Once Were Warriors" - so I doubt Boy will ruin our bungy jumping image.
Give it a whirl, Grumpy. It's worth watching for the credits alone. Poi E.
